There are two ways that you can participate in the NATSA 2012 Annual Conference: 1) the Call for Papers/Panels which is a thematic invitation; and 2) the NATSA Scholar Workshop, which is an alternative discipline-based platform. All contributors must follow the submission rules indicated below: Part I: Call for Papers/Panels This year’s Call for Papers/Panels is still open for both individual papers and panel proposals. Information about Call for Papers/Panels 1) Language policy: Starting this year, all abstracts and papers must be written and presented in ENGLISH ONLY. 2) Individual paper: For individual papers, contributors must submit a 250-300-word abstract. The abstract should include the title and also identify 3-5 keywords. We understand that different disciplines may have different rules and requirements regarding abstract submission. If available, however, contributors are encouraged to specify the issues, methodology, expected findings, and potential contributions of their research. Better structuring of the abstract will facilitate the review process and improve your chance to be accepted. 3) Panel proposal: Each panel submission must include:
4) After admission If admitted, applicants should submit a full version of the paper via the NATSA’s online system by the due date set by the planning committee later this year. Please submit your paper using Microsoft Word files or PDF files. The submitted material should be typed on A4/Letter size papers with one-inch margins, and the text of the paper should be more than 6000 but no longer than 10000 words. Also, the paper should not exceed 25 pages in length, including all the references, tables, or other illustrative materials. 5) Publication Opportunity NATSA is currently in partnership with The Chinese (Taiwan) Yearbook of International Law and Affairs (http://www.csil.org.tw/cpublish/enyearbook.htm), Japan Policy Research Institute (http://www.jpri.org) and the Middle Ground (http://www.themiddlegroundjournal.org). The editorial board of the journals will review and publish high-quality papers presented at NATSA annual conferences in their respective fields. For more information click here. Part 2: NATSA Scholar Workshop Information about NATSA Scholar Workshop 1) Language Policy: Starting this year, all abstracts and papers must be written and presented in ENGLISH ONLY. 2) Abstract Submission: Applicants to the Workshop must submit a 500-word abstract and a current Curriculum Vitae. The abstract should include the title and also identify 3-5 keywords. We understand that different disciplines may have different rules and requirements regarding abstract submission. If available, however, please specify the issues, methodology, expected findings, and potential contributions of the research. For scholars who plan to present their recent or forthcoming publication, please include the citation of the publication in the abstract. Applicants can also voluntarily email the publication to our Program Committee Coordinator for further review: Chiting Peng at chitingpeng@gmail.com. 3) After admission The result of the selection process will be announced in early February, 2012. If selected, participants would be required to submit and upload a maximum of 20 pages of material via the NATSA’s online system to facilitate workshop discussion. The material must be submitted also by the due date set by the planning committee later this year. Please submit such a material using Microsoft Word files or PDF files. The submitted material should be typed on A4/Letter size papers with one-inch margins. Other than that, however, the content and format of such material is not limited.
