Affiliate Journal: International Journal of Taiwan Studies
The International Journal of Taiwan Studies (IJTS), cosponsored by Academia Sinica and the European Association of Taiwan Studies, is a principal outlet for the dissemination of cutting-edge research on Taiwan. Its editorial office is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and is hosted by the Department of International Politics, Aberystwyth University.
IJTS is the first internationally collaborative, multidisciplinary, and peer-reviewed academic research journal in English dedicated for scholars, teachers, and students from around the world who have an active and passionate interest in Taiwan and Taiwan-related subjects. The journal is devoted to all aspects of Taiwan Studies, including social sciences, arts and humanities, and topics which are interdisciplinary in nature. This publication on Taiwan Studies, a rapidly growing field with an increasingly critical influence, aims to reach academics and policymakers of different cultural backgrounds, disciplinary perspectives and methodological approaches.
In 2020, the North American Taiwan Studies Association (NATSA) invited IJTS to become an affiliate journal. IJTS shares the same goal with NATSA to foster a global community of Taiwan studies and research. IJTS is of interest to a broad group of NATSA members across disciplines, theoretical orientations, and methodologies. The journal has an editorial broad that represents the diverse range of interests of NATSA members. NATSA members, conference presenters, and researchers are encouraged to submit their papers to IJTS. NATSA will highlight research articles published in IJTS during the past year at our annual conference and website.
IJTS follows a double-blind peer review system. The rolling call for papers is always open and the journal's editorial board enthusiastically welcomes previously unpublished papers in English. Please click this link to see the editorial board.
Please follow submission guidelines and submit your articles online.
If you submit a manuscript that has been presented in a NATSA conference, please note it in your submission.
If you have any queries or if you wish to propose a special thematic issue, please write to the IJTS editorial office (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Please write to the Book Review Editor, Professor Gary Rawnsley (email@example.com) if you would like to review books relevant to Taiwan studies.
