Deadline Extended to May10, 2020-- American Councils Tradition and Modernity in Taiwan Program

by Kevin Yochim

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, American Councils suspended all AC Study & Research Abroad overseas programs for Summer 2020. While our overseas programs will not be running as planned this summer, American Councils is pleased to offer the Tradition and Modernity in Taiwan program (TMT) online. Taught in English, this program explores Taiwan’s incredibly unique historical, political, and cultural context, as well as the instructive ways Taiwan has addressed societal challenges that all countries face. Tradition and Modernity in Taiwan online features:

  • Approximately 18 academic hours per week of instruction, both synchronous and asynchronous, covering the history, politics, culture, and society of Taiwan, as well as live online Chinese language instructions at all levels (including absolute beginners)

  • Academic credit from Bryn Mawr College upon successful completion of the program

  • Reduced program fee from overseas program; scholarships available

The application deadline for this program has been extended to Sunday, May 10. For program-specific information such as dates, costs, potential virtual activities, and more, please visit https://acstudyabroad.org/summeronline/. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions at outbound@americancouncils.org or 202-733-8522.
