Encyclopedia of Taiwan Studies: Media section

International publisher, Brill is currently preparing to compile and publish the Encyclopedia of Taiwan Studies. Professor Hsin-Huang Michael Hsiao (Academia Sinica) is the Editor-in-Chief. It is anticipated that The Encyclopedia of Taiwan Studies will be complete and available online by 2022.

Dr. Lihyun Lin (Graduate Institute of Journalism, National Taiwan University) and Dr. Ming-yeh Rawnsely (SOAS, University of London) serve on the advisory board for the subsection on media. If you are interested in writing one of the entries at the bottom of this document, please contact Dr. Lin (lihyunlin@g.ntu.edu.tw cc. Dr. Rawnsley at ijts.office@eats-taiwan.eu) with a brief 1-page CV and the entry that you would like to write on by 25 February 2021. You will be contacted individually after the deadline about further details.

Generally speaking, each entry may be between 1000-3000 words (to be discussed between the contributor and Dr. Lin and Dr. Rawnsley). Based on an overview of the scholarship, it is encouraged that the entries should include the following information: definition of the term/entry, broader contexts, development within Taiwan and one or two critical cases in Taiwan.

Each contributor will be granted free access to the Encyclopedia when it is published. Thanks very much for your attention and we look forward to hearing from you.
