The Taiwan Studies Programme at the University of Nottingham, School of Politics and International Relations is pleased to announce that it is offering a Scholarship for Postgraduate Research students in the School starting their PhD's in October 2021/2022 academic year. This will be offered on a competitive basis, with applications being ranked by a School panel, whose judgement is final.

Description of award: £14566 per annum towards fees and stipend for 3 years (full-time).

Eligibility and Value of the Award: Only those who have been accepted for a place on a PhD research programme in the School of Politics and International Relations to begin in the academic year 2021-2022 are eligible to apply. Home/EU and International students are eligible to apply, but please note that the total Scholarship award £14566 per annum is towards fees and stipend and upon satisfactory progress. 

Application: Applications for a place on the school's PhD programmes are made via the University's online application system.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on 29 January 2021. Following the deadline shortlisted candidates will be contacted and interviewed, either in person or via online methods and the Scholarship decision announced by 15 March 2021. 

Please email your application with the subject line 'TSP PhD Scholarship Application' to mandy.felton@nottingham.ac.uk with the following information:

• Your name

• The degree programme for which you are applying

• Your Applicant ID number

• Title of proposed doctoral research project

• A research proposal of up to 1,000 words excluding references. This proposal MUST contain a brief overview of your intended research, including reference to key literature and account of what is novel about your project, as well as the methods you plan to use.

• A statement from both members of your supervisory team (which must be a member of staff from the School of Politics and International Relations and be your first supervisor) of up to 250 words each explaining how their expertise will help you develop your project.
